In class we just watched a film called "Food Matters". This film talked about nutritional therapy, and the toxicity of the foods we are putting into our bodies. The claim in this film is that if we changed our diet and ate the right foods we wouldn't necessarily need modern medicine. Another claim was that if everyone took vitamins they could prevent other illnesses that are occurring in their bodies. They are not saying that we should abolish modern medicine however the point that they do make is that modern medicine doesn't focus on the root cause, or the long term. It only focuses on the symptoms you are experiencing in the moment. A statistic was given, 90 percent of patients come in because of poor nutrition. So overall what "Food Matters" was trying to get across is with the proper diet we can avoid many illnesses, and doctor visits because nutritional therapy is the best cure for the body.
